Red Giant has announced a new product that joins its list of successful applications, including Magic Bullet Looks and Plural Eyes. This is BulletProof software, which provides the necessary tools for all the intermediate work between camera file output and post-production.
In other words, although we do not know too much at the moment, it is a solution intended for DITs (Digital Imaging Technicians) for downloading, preparing and delivering digital video files.
From here you can register to enjoy its free beta version. BulletProof has a workflow that simplifies all media management, focusing and allowing you to perform these tasks step by step:
- Backup: file downloading is performed by selecting clips from hard disks or cards for subsequent import into the catalog with backup.
- Organize: you can view the entire catalog and sort clips by folders and playlists.
- Review: playing clips individually to check color, quality and consistency.
- Color and metadata: other functions allow to apply a first color adjustment and to add useful metadata for the next steps in the production chain.
- Delivery: by queuing the files for export or transcoding them to prepare them for a project.
From its website, Red Giant promotes the work of this software with cameras such as DSLR or GoPro, so we will have to wait for NAB 2013, where BulletProof will be presented, to know more specific details, including the list of supported codecs.
In the meantime, all those interested in DIT work with other systems and workstations, you can take a look at the DIT Course, scheduled for next July.
