The Foundry has released a small update for its Hiero and Nuke product line, including NukeX and Nuke Studio.
AAF and forming
The main new features are aimed at the conforming phase with the import of AAFs. Now, these imported AAFs will be able to carry the information corresponding to transformations, crops and retimes from editing systems such as Media Composer or Final Cut Pro. Note, however, that non-linear speed changes (such as ramps) will not be translated to the new timeline.
Multi-view files
Nuke, Nuke Studio and Hiero are now able to read .mov multi-view files in a similar way as they would .exr files. The difference is that by default this type of files will only show us the first view, but it can be modified by following these steps:
- Import the .mov file in the normal way. File > Import Fileor using the Node Graph.
- Browse by Project > Edit Settings > Views o Edit > Project Settings > Views and click on Set up views for stereo.
- Navigate to Window > Media or open the node properties and disable First track only.
Other added functions
Among other features we find improved scopes for stereo material, which will now show by default a scope for the active view, left or right. If there are two stereo clips in the A/B input buffer, a scope will be displayed for each of them.
The rest of the improvements have been dedicated to fix certain technical bugs; you can see all of them detailed in this link.
This version 9.0v8 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9, as well as Windows 7 and 8 64 bit (with the latest version of QuickTime installed).
