A few days ago Imagineer Systems released version 5 of mocha Pro, its world-renowned system for tracking, masking, object removal and stabilization capabilities.
This is an important update, as it adds the ability to work as a plugin within Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Avid Media Composer. This was one of the most requested options by the user community, and to achieve this they have worked together with the Boris FX development team. In addition, the company has said that we will soon see support for OFX, so that Nuke and DaVinci Resolve users will also be able to use mocha Pro within their regular software.
In order to speed up workflows in high-resolution projects, the planar tracking algorithm has been improved so that it is now possible to take advantage of OpenCL processing.
Apart from the two new features already mentioned, other features of mocha 5 are:
- New export formats: tracking and mask support for Fusion, Silhouette FX, and MochaBlend for Cinema 4D.
- Python Scripting module: enhancements for integration with asset management systems and background rendering systems.
- Improved online licensing mechanism.
It is also worth mentioning that there are new prices for mocha Pro 5, being $695 for a new purchase or $395 for an upgrade (these prices are starting prices, i.e. they may increase depending on the option required).
