Fusion 8 available for Mac

This week many Mac users finally got something they have been waiting for a long time, the ability to access Fusion software from their regular operating systems.

Blackmagic Design released a few days ago version 8 of this visual effects and motion graphics system, which is available on both Windows and Mac.

Another new feature is that, for the first time, Fusion supports multi-user versions, with support for 10, 20 or 50 licenses. To do this, a USB key must be connected to a computer running Fusion Server (included in Fusion Studio). From there the floating licenses will be controlled over a local network.

Since the acquisition in 2014 by Blackmagic Design, Fusion is a software that can be downloaded for free from the website. There are, however, some advanced options such as optical-flow or s3d for which you have to pay $995 (Fusion Studio). Prices for multi-user licenses start at $8,995 for 10 users, $17,895 for 20 users and $44,495 for 50 users.
