The control of the cameras through a smartphone is a reality. Arri has at its disposal the Pocket Control. An app has been developed from iOS (version 9 or higher is required) to establish a monitor and control of the camera settings, both Arri Alexa Mini and Arri Amira (SUP 5.1 or higher). It is completely free to download from the App Store. This application connects the camera via Wifi with the iPhone or iPad device. It means having control of the camera from a remote location. It is a direct access to the camera settings and immediately from virtually anywhere.
What you can do with Pocket Control
There are three actions that stand out from the use of the new app.
- Camera settings. The remote control allows changes within the shutter speed or exposure without having to go to the camera settings manually. You can also change settings such as white balance, FPS sensor or ND filter among others. You can lock the application controls to avoid unintentional changes.
- Record or stop recording. With the familiar REC button, you start recording from anywhere on the set.
- Control looks and refine them. You can choose from a list of available looks stored in the camera, as well as adjust the pivot contrast controls or choose to make the image cooler or warmer. Once you have adjusted a look you can save it as a preset.
