PluralEyes, the automatic synchronization system from Red Giant (although formerly from Singular Software), has just been upgraded to version 3.1, which includes support for Avid Media Composer.
This update comes just two months after the company released version 3, which significantly increased the speed compared to version 2 (20 times faster), allowing the video and audio synchronization process to take seconds, instead of hours or even days.
In addition, in this version 3 the user interface and the timeline were also improved in order to be able to detect problems visually in a very simple way.
Red Giant, seeing the success obtained with editors working in Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro (6, 7 and X), has decided to release a version that is also compatible with Avid Media Composer, but for the moment only available for Mac (OS X 10.7.5 or 10.8).
Avid versions 5.5, 6, and 6.5 are supported(here you can see the versions of the other editing systems). PluralEyes now allows exporting synchronized timelines directly to Media Composer.
Another of the new features included in version 3.1 is MXF support in both Avid and Premiere Pro; but if we read the product specifications we find the small print: you can synchronize the audio and video of these files but it is not possible to make a preview, so we will have to wait to see it in our editing system to know if everything went well.
A new feature called “Do It For Me” has also been added. This is a set of functions that allow you to automatically import and organize clips without previously sorting them.
For users who have PluralEyes version 3, this update is completely free, and you can download it from here. If you want to get a new license, you can do it from this page for $199; or upgrade from PluralEyes v2 or DualEyes for $79.
Full Windows support is expected in version 3.2 (coming soon according to Red Giant), but until then, a copy of PluralEyes 2 and DualEyes is included with the purchase of version 3 as a temporary workaround.
This is a demo video of PluralEyes 3 and I also leave you the link to download the trial.
