AJA video systems together with ColorFront have announced the latest features of their HDR Image Analyzer 12G. Known for its HDR image monitoring and analysis capabilities in 4K and UHD, it now supports 8K images.
It is capable of supporting the latest industry standards including HLG, PQ, Rec 709 and 2020 and images from HD to the latest announced, 8K. It is capable of playing back Ultra High Definition, 2K, 4K and both of the above resolutions in real time. The great advantage of the AJA Image Analyzer 12G is the simplicity in the use of the device, since we can connect to it through a 12G-SDI input. In fact, it has 4 12G-SDI ports for both input and output, and Display Port is added to these connections. Through the DisplayPort we will be able to display images with native resolution.
It is a very useful and reliable tool for HDR productions, as it allows the user to have a technical and visual control of the images throughout the creative process. With the 12G-SDI input it is able to monitor the signal directly from the camera and therefore have live the signal that we are capturing in live productions, but also serves to work with the images in the post-production process , quality control and final delivery in HDR with the security of having a faithful representation at all times.
The tools and interface are customizable to adapt the display to each type of production. Besides the waveform, vectorscope and histogram representations, AJA Image Analyzer 12G has tools to detect possible image problems such as out of gamma and brightness warning, average brightness level of the frame, etc…
It has automatic systems for the analysis of the video input, although it can also be done manually so that the user can choose the resolution, color space, etc…
It also allows us to customize the interface to display different color spaces, including 709, P3, XYZ and 2020, as well as those of each camera.
The launch is planned for the United States for the time being and can be ordered now for $19,995.
