Edelkrone, a well known brand among camera operators for its travelling systems, has launched its new JibONEthe motion control arm.
JibONE is an arm to perform multiple camera movements in a simple and smooth way to give a plus to the images we are recording. It is a hot head system taken to the DSLR world and which can be managed from a mobile application.
Among the movements available with the JibONE, we can take shots on the vertical and horizontal axes and also make diagonal movements every 22.5 degrees, combining both axes. The available movement distance is 50 cm with the arm fully extended.
At all times the camera angle is maintained during these movements, the only requirement for this is to have a tripod head, which will be from where we adjust the tilt angle. The good thing is that it is compatible with Edelkrone HeadPlus and HeadOne.
One of the great advantages of JibONE is the simplicity of mounting the arm, without the need to use tools and without going crazy with the counterweights, which is usually where most of the time is wasted when mounting these balance-based systems. The balance control system is based on the position of the counterweights. There are 4 counterweights with a total of 5 kg that can be slid along the arm to counterbalance the weight of the camera.
Another advantage of JibONE is the automatic handling, being able to program the movements and play them in a loop. This can be very useful when shooting interviews, for example, where some camera movements are often repeated. You can also program movements during a timelapse, make quick transitions between shots or follow an object automatically. These options are also dependent on the head we use.
Through the mobile app, available for iOS and Android, we can control all the movements and all the Edelkrone devices we have.
Thinking about the target audience of the JibONE, Edelkrone has designed a bag to make it easy to carry and take it anywhere. It is already on sale and comes with a price of € 1,199.
