RED introduces its new Raven camera

RED Digital Cinema, known worldwide for the RED One, Epic, Scarlet and Weapon cameras, has just unveiled its latest model called Raven.
It features a 4K Dragon sensor (20.48mm x 10.8mm), EF mount and a compact, lightweight form factor. It weighs just over a pound and a half and is the smallest option in this entire line of digital cinema cameras.
The new RED Raven has several aspects in common with Weapon, and in fact allows the use of its accessories. It is also possible to use those of Epic and Scarlet through the Lemo Adapter A.
Simultaneous recording is offered in 4K RAW (4096 x 2160) and ProRes 2K on the Mini-Mag SSDs. Maximum frame rates are up to 120fps in 4K RAW, up to 240fps if 2K, or up to 60p in ProRes 422HQ 2K.
As with other RED cameras, there are different types of compression for RAW recording, which can reach up to 3:1 in 4K 30p.
Among the purchase options are two packages that include a 4.7-inch LCD and a 120GB Mini-Mag.
