Although according to the number it should not be a major feature update, the truth is that this .1 brings quite a few interesting things:
The highlights are the go-around workflow for FCPX via XML (for FCP7 it already worked very well) and the improvement (almost implementation as it was a bit of a disaster before) of the workflow with Avid via AAF (with the possibility to carry more effects metadata) and improvements also in the flows with EDL.
In addition to this the new version supports Blackmagic cards via Thunderbolt (the Ultrastudio) and 15″ Mac laptops (previously only the 17″ was certified) and allows working with Red’s HDRx files (does anyone have some material for me to test this?) and ACES/IIF color space , an initiative of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (yes, they don’t just give out the Oscars, they also give out for…).
