New Element multi-camera recorders

With just one week to go until NAB, we continue to receive news of the new products that will be presented there, at the important trade show in Las Vegas.

Convergent Design has announced its new line of multi-camera recorders (also switchers) called Element. There are three models with different capabilities:

  • Element 1: a multi-camera HD recorder.
  • Element 2: adds switching capability.
  • Element 3: 4K multi-camera recorder/switcher.

In this way, these three recorders cover the different needs that may arise depending on the production. The Element product line is based on SSD recording and routing all camera signals to a single recorder. Thus, it is possible to centralize metadata information, such as ISO, or to have synchronized time codes.

Each recorder is capable of capturing up to 4 simultaneous streams. They all have Gigabit Ethernet connection, for transferring files over a network while continuing to record, and have a port for monitoring the synchronized signal.

At the moment we do not know details about the release date and price.
