Mobile applications for NAB 2013

If you are going to the NAB Show this year, which will take place between April 6 and 11 in Las Vegas, I recommend that you subscribe to myNAB Show. It’s a free, virtual, personal planning tool where you can create lists of exhibitors and events and review them as you go.

It also has a module with a calendar to make and manage appointments.

Once you have subscribed to myNAB Show you can download one of the mobile applications. There are apps for iPad, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and a web version of the app for other devices that are not supported.

These applications offer the possibility to receive real-time alerts, watch videos or share photos of your NAB experience.

Perhaps one of the most useful features of the application is Maps, which will avoid those long hours looking for a booth or friends. It is a guide with instructions to get from one place to another and very easy to use:

After clicking on the Maps icon we select the room where we are (in the case of the example it is the South Hall Lower).

Maps_NAB2In the magnifying glass icon we first look for the exact stand where we are located. When we find it, the stand will appear in red, select it and click on “Get Directions”.

Maps_NAB3As you can see in the picture, in addition to this you can also mark the booths as visited, add notes, etc.

Finally we mark the place where we want to go (in this case the example is NewTek) and it will guide us like any GPS.
