Martian News: Google buys Avid?

Forbes magazine has published an article about companies that Google could buy in 2012, given that they have a good amount of money to invest and the desire to do so. The truth is that it seems to me that the options range from total delirium, Sony or Adobe, to more possible things like Netflix or Sprint. The final surprise is Avid, I really don’t see what interest Google could have in buying Avid, except that it’s cheap. I honestly don’t think it’s a business that will bring them anything, but hey, stranger things have been seen, and Forbes magazine says so, one of those oracles of economics that “never fail”.
