Final Effects Complete 6 for Avid

Final Effects Complete AVX is a collection of filters and transitions developed by the company Boris FX. Now version 6 (called FEC 6 AVX) has been released, which is compatible with Avid Media Composer 6, Symphony 6 and NewsCutter 10 systems. This new version only works with Avid version 6, not earlier versions.

The pack contains 110 effects and transitions, plus a new feature called Compare Mode, which is used to compare the original image with the filtered one. For this purpose there are two display modes, one is “side-by-side”, in which you see the two images separately; the other is “split-screen”, which allows you to see the changes in split-screen, showing the two images (filtered and unfiltered) together.

These are some of the effects included:

– Particle effects for 2D and 3D: Mr Mercury, Hair and Bubbles.

– Animated transitions: Blur Dissolve, Glass Wipe and Light Wipe.

– Text treatments: Wiggle Edges, Burn Edges and Sparkle Edges.

– Stylized looks: Vector Blur, Glass Kaleida and 3D Relief.

– Distortion filters and change of perspective.

In releasing this new version, each of the filters has been redesigned to adapt to 64-bit systems. They have also been optimized to improve their rendering speed (on modern platforms).

Another new feature is the Beat Reactor technology, which allows editors to “sample” specific audio bands to a clip and then use them to adjust the parameters of an effect. This makes it much easier to modify the values of an effect that has to be adjusted according to specific sounds or driven by impulses in a piece of music.

There are also new on-screen widgets thanks to which you can adjust parameters precisely without having to take your eyes off the image.

Unlike the $895 that those who want to buy it brand new will have to pay, for those who already have BCC 8 AVX (Boris Continuum Complete) there is an offer for a limited time, it will only cost $100.

This is the official website where you can buy it and watch a short video with some demos.

For those who want to try it first, here is the link to download the 14-day trial version.

Prior to the release of version 6, FEC AVX was already available for Adobe’s After Effects and Premiere Pro; Apple’s Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Motion; Autodesk’s Flint, Flame, Inferno and Smoke. They can also be found on the Boris FX website.
