Avid users: ATTENTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

Avid has released a statement announcing major changes that will affect all of its users, including those using the popular Media Composer editing system.

On November 1, Avid is moving to an Open Source Java solution as a result of a contractual change with the current Java software vendors. The company will try to keep the costs to its customers as low as possible and continue to provide a favorable service.

The purpose of this notification is to make all users aware that after October 31, they will no longer have access to installers for previous versions of their products. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to visit the Avid Download Center to download, update and backup all installers before this date (after which they will be permanently deleted).

In addition, according to the press release, Avid resellers and professional services will not be able to attend the affected facilities.

Registered users can find them by accessing My Avid > My Products > Products Not Yet Downloaded or by visiting the Avid Video Download Center.
