ARRI renews ECS functions

A few days ago Arri renewed its Electronic Control System (ECS), a set of tools for the remote control of cameras and lenses that works on any model, not only Arri’s.

In addition to free software updates for WCU-4 (Wireless Compact Unit) and UMC-4 (Universal Motor Controller), the company has introduced the CLM-5 lens motor and an integrated monitor mount for the WCU-4.

CLM-5

It is a small and lightweight lens motor with fast response, designed especially for gimbal and drones. It can be used with most Alexa models and with other cameras using the UMC-4, SMC-1 (Single Motor Controller) or CMotion controllers.

Right now ARRI has five different motors, offering options for size, speed, etc. For example, the CML-3 will serve those who want to use heavy lenses, while models 2 and 3 are for standard lenses.

WCU-4

It is a versatile unit that offers control of up to three lens axes. Despite being handheld, it is rugged and splash-proof. It features a lens data readout display, focus mark mapping, focus tracking, vibration alerts and custom programming.

The new Monitor Mount allows you to fit monitors on top of this WCU-4 unit. This mount is optimized for the Transvideo Starlite HD5 (5 inch) and offers adjustable viewing angles.
